Jaakko Simola is a dancer, choreographer, and performance maker who works widely in the field of art and culture.
He received his MA in Choreography from the Theatre Academy Helsinki in 2007, and MA in Philosophy (ethnology) from the University of Helsinki in 2013. He did his Bachelor’s in Dance in 2003, as well as a BA studying Fenno-Urgic ethnology, art history, museology, and Nordic philology.
Jaakko Simola works as a freelance choreographer and museum guide. His interests include lived and experienced spaces; constructed and performed space, place, or landscape; choreography and museum space; history of Finnish design; rural building traditions; cultural history of Tavastia. Simola loves cycling, esthetic observations, old music, and old houses.
