Iiro Näkki is a Helsinki-based choreographer, performer and teacher working in the fields of contemporary dance and circus arts. He has graduated from the University of the Arts Helsinki (BA in dance arts, 2015 – MA in choreography, 2018).
As a choreographer he has created eight staged pieces between 2013 and 2018 for festivals and theatres. His works have have been presented in Finland, Spain, Belgium, and Estonia.
As a teacher he has trained students from beginners to professionals. He has worked as an instructor of contemporary dance, floor work, acrobatics and dance acrobatics, Chinese pole, partnering and contact work, and parkour. He has also taken part in local and international social circus projects.
As a performer he has toured across Scandinavia and Central Europe, performing with various kinds of artistic groups. Lately he has worked with i.e. Lü Suosen, Mirva Mäkinen, Jarkko Mandelin and Laura Pietiläinen.
In addition, Iiro Näkki has experience working as a producer for Kinetic Orchestra dance company in Finland and as an office assistant for Circus Cirkör in Sweden.
His possible working languages involve English, French, Spanish, Swedish and Finnish.
