Iina Taijonlahti works as a dancer, choreographer, and teacher of dance and other somatic practices in Finland, the USA, and Asia.
She lived in Beijing for four years, studying at the Beijing Dance Academy. For her, dance belongs to all, and dance promotes interaction. Hänen mielestään tanssi kuuluu kaikille ja edistää vuorovaikutusta. Taijonlahti has worked extensively in the field of applied dance (including in the project Steps of Dance – dance in the care of elderly people).
Taijonlahti has also studied film, and she works with dance films. Dance and film include similar elements of space, time, and action. In addition, both art forms create new spatial layers between the audience and performer.
