Annamari Keskinen

Dance Artist

Annamari Keskinen is a dancer and choreographer from Helsinki. For the last 16 years, she has worked internationally in dance ensembles and as a freelancer.

In her approach to dance and theater, Annamari is interested in how the invisible is made visible and how the subconscious can serve as a source of creativity and guide one through the artistic process. She looks for the subtle reality of things that are present but not always seen.

Annamari teaches annually at the b12 workshop festival in Berlin. She has also worked as teacher and choreographer at the Salzburg Experimental Dance Academy (SEAD) since 2019.

In 2018 Annamari founded the company Thar Be Dragons, together with dancer-choreographer Ryan Mason. Thar Be Dragons is a platform for theatrical dance research, education, and performance. Their first full-length work, ‘Dying Animals Don’t Feel Sorry For Themselves’ was presented at the Kaiku Club in Helsinki in 2018. They were also commissioned to create work for the Staatstheater Kassel and Staatstheater Braunschweig.
